Masterpiece Farms is located at the edge of the City of Hillsboro in the rolling hills of Southwest Ohio. Hillsboro is primarily a rural community but is growing rapidly due to its location being an equal distance from Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati. It is ideally located near the Robert's Show Arena in Wilmington, Ohio and The Ohio Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, Ohio. It is a short drive from either location to our facilities. Visitors by appointment are welcome throughout the year.
The farm began on a 9-acre tract of land upon which was located on old barn. The family decided to renovate this pictureque barn instead of destroying history, This evolved into a major project but the result was well worth it. Soon thereafter, additional tracts of 16 acres and 49 acres were added to the original purchase. In 2002 an adjacent 12.64 acres containing a farmhouse and barn were added. This acreage overlooks both SR 138 and Route 50, being located within the junture of these two man highways. Our horses run free on the 49-acre tract which contains several hills overlooking the countryside.
From our small beginnings, our horse population has grown. Our first brood mares were our daughters' first show horses that were retired to the good life. We have added to our mare population since that time with the goal of owning primarily superior mares or mares with prime show records or winnings. We believe the quality of our offspring is a direct result of breeding to quality mares.
We have furthermore chosen to select a variety of sires for our breeding, attempting to obtain the best results by carefully matching the bloodlines involved. Every year, we offer for sale weanlings from prominent and proven sires.
